Canadian Ammonite #1(1070)

Placenticeras intercalare. This is an extremely bright and beautiful matrix specimen with excellent shape in a very sculpturally appealing natural rock matrix. This species is the rarest we collect in the Bearpaw Formation. This specimen boasts rich reds, oranges and golds with highlights of bold greens and a touch of the rare blues. This specimen has them all! This Ammonite comes from the bottom of the Bearpaw formation at the Korite mine. These are the layers where the best Ammolite gemstones are found. Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite’s shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. This ammonite measures approximately 9 ¾” (24.5 cm.) in diameter, roughly centered in a 26 ½” X 19 ½” (68 cm. X 50 cm.) shale matrix. It comes with a wood display stand and a certificate of authenticity. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
