Canadian Ammonite 25(1070)
Placenticeras costatum. Approximately 10” in diameter in a frame with matt measuring approximately 17” X 17”. Excellent shape and areas of beautiful, bright colouration on this specimen. It displays reds, oranges, golds and greens as well as quite a bit of the rare blues and purples as well. It is an extremely bright and beautiful specimen. It is professionally framed in a shadow box matt with non-reflective museum glass and an identification plaque. This ammonite comes from the bottom of the Bearpaw formation at the Korite mine. These are the layers where the best ammolite gemstones are found. Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite’s shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. It comes ready to hang a certificate of authenticity. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
