Canadian Ammonite 20(1045)

Ammonite #20(1045) Placenticeras costatum. Measures approximately 45.8 cm. (18″) in diameter. This ammonite displays excellent shape and has amazing colour mostly on the front but some on the back. It is a one sided piece that has some still bright colour on the back. The front colours range from some reds, oranges and golds, and is mainly greens, the rare blues and purples. On the back side there are areas of colour ranging from little reds, oranges and golds, and is mostly the greens and blues. This ammonite comes from the top of the Bearpaw formation at the Korite mine. Only in one small area of North America does one find this brilliant gemstone. Over millions of years, the nacre of the ammonite’s shell has been transformed to take on this wild range of iridescent colouring. It comes with a wood display stand and a certificate of authenticity. For international shipping, all customs paperwork is included. This specimen is registered with the Government of Canada and leaves the country with all the required permits and documentation.
